When was the Kyber network token migration?
In April 2021, Kyber had an upgrade where it migrated to a new smart contract. The Kyber team replaced old Kyber (KNCL) with a new Kyber (KNC) token. Kyber v1 could be swapped for new Kyber at a 1:1 ratio.
Why do I see old Kyber (KNCL) and Kyber (KNC) in my Exodus wallet?
The Kyber team has kept the same name for the new token: Kyber (KNC). The old token has been named Kyber (KNCL).
So you'll see two wallets in Exodus that will hold the old and new Kyber:
Kyber (old) (KNCL) - old token
Kyber (KNC) - new token
How do I swap from old Kyber (KNCL) to new Kyber (KNC)?
To swap your old Kyber (KNCL) to new Kyber (KNC), you can follow the swap process.
Mobile
In Exodus Mobile, open your old Kyber (KNCL) wallet and tap on the Settings icon in the top right corner.
You'll be shown the amount of unclaimed KNC and the amount of ETH you need to pay the network transaction fee for the token swap. To proceed, tap Claim.
Do not close Exodus until you see the Success! screen (should not take more than a few minutes).
That's it! Once the swap is complete, you can go to your new Kyber wallet to view your KNC tokens.
Desktop
Open your old Kyber (KNCL) wallet.
a) Click the menu in the top right-hand corner, then b) click Claim KNC.
You'll be shown the amount of unclaimed KNC tokens and the amount of ETH you need to pay network transaction fee for the token swap. To proceed, click Claim.
Do not close Exodus until you see the Swap Successful! screen (should not take more than a few minutes).
That's it! Once the swap is complete, you can go to your new Kyber wallet to view your KNC tokens.
