How do I link my existing FTX account?

If you need to create an FTX account, you can start here.

If you already have an FTX account, you have two options to link it to the FTX Exchange app in Exodus. You can either log in to your FTX account from inside your Exodus wallet, or you can link your FTX account to Exodus using your API key. Either method links your FTX account to the FTX Exchange app in Exodus. 

You can also create subaccounts in the FTX account that is linked to the FTX Exchange app in Exodus. This will allow you to have more than one FTX portfolio in Exodus.


How do I log in with my FTX account?

Open your desktop Exodus wallet and click on the Install Apps button at the top.

From the list, locate the FTX Exchange app and click Install.

After installing the FTX Exchange app, click Open.

a) Click on the Log In tab, then b) click Open FTX to Log In. This will take you to the FTX website.

a) Click on the Log In tab and b) enter your email address and password. c) Click Log In. When prompted, please enter your 2FA verification code.

Click on Authorize to allow FTX to connect to Exodus.

FTX will now link your account to Exodus. If FTX asks for permission to open Exodus, click Allow. If Exodus does not open automatically, please open the wallet manually to continue.

Done! Your FTX account is now linked to the FTX Exchange app in your Exodus wallet!

Please note: Your account needs to be verified with Level 1 identity verification or above to use the FTX Exchange app in Exodus.

You can now start using the FTX Exchange app in your Exodus wallet!


How do I connect my FTX account with the API key?

On the FTX website ( US | International), a) click on the Log In tab, b) enter your email address and password, then c) click Log In. When prompted, enter your 2FA verification code.

Click on the Gear icon in the top right corner.

In the settings menu, locate and click on the API tab .

Click on Create API Key.

Here you will see the API Key and API Secret. Make sure you write these down and keep them in a safe place. You will need to enter both the API key and the API secret in order to link your FTX account with the FTX Exchange app in Exodus.

Please note: The API Secret will never be shown again after closing this dialogue box, so please make sure you write it down and keep it somewhere safe.

Once you have written down the API Key and API Secret, click Close. Then click on the Pencil icon under Permissions.

Enable Withdrawals and Internal Transfers to use the API key with Exodus.

Open your Exodus wallet and click on the FTX Exchange app.

a) Click on Log In, b) then click Use an API Key

Enter the API Key and API Secret from step 5 and click on Link API.

Done! Your FTX account is now linked to the FTX Exchange app in your Exodus wallet!

How do I create a subaccount in FTX?

On the FTX website ( US | International), a) click on the Log In tab, b) enter your email address and password, then c) click Log In. When prompted, enter your 2FA verification code.

Click on the Gear icon in the top right corner.

From the settings menu, select  Subaccounts.

From the Subaccounts menu, click on  Create Subaccount.

a) Give your subaccount a name and b) click on Create Subaccount

After you create a subaccount, it will show up in Exodus as an additional FTX portfolio.


Why am I getting an error that internal transfers are disabled in my FTX account?

By default, FTX API keys are restricted from performing internal transfers. To remove this restriction, you will need to toggle on Internal transfers enabled in the API settings in your FTX account.
