How do I add a custom token?

Add custom tokens in Exodus in just a few steps. If a token on a supported network isn't listed in Exodus, you can add it as a custom token.

What is a custom token?

A custom token is a token you manually add or import into Exodus.

Exodus offers built-in support for 250+ cryptocurrencies that you can enable in your wallet.

If the asset you wish to receive isn't listed, then it may be possible for you to add it to your Exodus wallet as a custom token. For information on what networks you can add custom tokens on, you can jump to: Which custom tokens does Exodus support?

You can add any number of custom tokens. There is no maximum limit.

Custom tokens may have limited functionality compared to supported assets. For example, not all custom tokens can be swapped. For information on swapping custom tokens, please see Can I swap custom tokens?

Custom tokens may not display price information, and as a result, may not be reflected in your portfolio balance.


Which custom tokens does Exodus support?

Custom tokens are supported on multiple networks in Exodus. You can see which networks are supported below.

  • Algorand (ALGO/ASA)

  • Arbitrum Nova (ARBN)

  • Arbitrum One (ARB1)

  • Aurora Chain (AURORA)

  • Avalanche C-Chain (AVAXC)

How do I add a custom token to my wallet?

Mobile

In Exodus Mobile, you can add custom tokens on any supported network. Here's how you can add a custom token.

If you restore your mobile wallet using your secret recovery phrase, perform a mobile refresh, or sync your mobile wallet to another device, you might need to add custom tokens to your wallet again.

  1. In Exodus Mobile, a) tap the Profile icon, then b) tap Assets.

  2. Tap on the Advanced Options menu in the top right corner.

  3. Tap Import Token.

  4. a) Select the network of the token, then b) search for the token's name.

    Before you can receive an Algorand token, you have to opt in and enable it. To see how, visit: How do I opt in and enable Algorand tokens on Mobile?

  5. If you can't find the right token, you will need to add it with the token contract address. To do so, a) select the network, then b) enter the token contract address. For a guide on how to find the token contract address, go to: How do I find a token contract address?

  6. Once you've found your token, either by name or contract address, tap on it.

    Make sure your custom token is legitimate and not a scam counterpart. To learn more, visit: Watch out for spoofs of legitimate tokens.

  7. After checking the token details are correct, tap Add.

  8. If successful, you'll see Token Added! Tap OK.

  9. Your custom token has been added to your wallet.


Desktop

In Exodus Desktop, you can add custom tokens on any supported network. Here's how you can add a custom token to your desktop wallet.

If you restore your desktop wallet using your secret recovery phrase, or sync your desktop wallet to another device, you might need to add custom tokens to your wallet again.

  1. In Exodus Desktop, click the Settings icon.

  2. a) Click on the Assets tab at the top of your wallet. On the right-hand side of your wallet, b) click the menu, then c) click Add Custom Token.

  3. a) Click the dropdown arrow to select the network, then b) click Search.

    Before you can receive an Algorand token, you have to opt in and enable it. To see how, visit: How do I opt in and enable Algorand tokens on Desktop?

  4. Search for your token. If you can't find the right token, you will need to add it with the token contract address. For a guide, go to: How do I find a token contract address?

  5. Once you've found the token you would like to add, either by name or pasting in the token contract address, click on it.

    Make sure your custom token is legitimate and not a scam counterpart. To learn more, visit: Watch out for spoofs of legitimate tokens.

  6. Click Add Token.

  7. Your custom token has been added to your wallet.


Web3 Wallet

In Exodus Web3 Wallet, you can add custom tokens on any supported network. Here's how you can add a custom token to your Web3 Wallet.

If you restore your wallet using your secret recovery phrase or sync your wallet to another device, you might need to add custom tokens to your wallet again.

  1. In Exodus Web3 Wallet, a) click the Profile icon, then b) click Assets.

  2. a) Click Custom, then b) click Add Custom Token.

  3. a) Select the network of the token, then b) search for the token.

  6. Your custom token has been added to your wallet.


How do I remove custom tokens from my wallet?

Removing custom tokens is only available on Exodus Desktop and Exodus Web3 Wallet.

Desktop

  1. In Exodus Desktop, click the Settings icon.

  2. a) Click on the Assets tab at the top of your wallet. In the Assets list, find the custom token you wish to remove, then b) click the Remove icon.

  3. To confirm you wish to remove the custom token, click Remove.

  4. And that's it! The custom token has now been removed from your wallet. If you ever need to use it again, you can always re-add it. In the assets menu, a) click on the filter and select the Show Deleted filter. Next, b) click the toggle next to the removed asset you want to re-add.


Web3 Wallet

  1. In Exodus Web3 Wallet, a) click the Profile icon, then b) click Assets.

  2. Find the custom token you wish to remove, then click the Remove icon.

  3. On the confirmation screen, click Remove.

  4. And that's it! The custom token has now been removed from your wallet. If you ever need to use it again, you can always re-add it. In the assets menu, a) click on the filter and select the Deleted filter. Next, b) click the toggle next to the removed asset you want to re-add.


What are unverified tokens?

Sometimes, you might see tokens in your wallet with the Unverified tag you didn't buy or send yourself. These are unverified tokens, and they are sent to wallets for various reasons. Most of these tokens are not worth anything.

While not all unverified tokens are malicious, some are used to promote scams and malicious links. It's best not to interact with these tokens, including clicking on any links.

In Exodus Web3 Wallet and Exodus Mobile, unverified tokens will have the Unverified tag.

On Exodus Web3 Wallet, you can remove any unwanted unverified tokens or trust unverified tokens you have full confidence in.

In Exodus Mobile or Web3 Wallet, if you try to add a custom token that is unverified, you will get a warning. You then have the option to a) Add Anyway or b) Don't Add.


How do I trust unverified tokens in Web3 Wallet?

In Exodus Web3 Wallet, you can remove the Unverified tag from an unverified token you trust.

Only trust unverified tokens you have full confidence in. Some unverified tokens are malicious and could put all your funds at risk. If you don't trust an unverified token, it's recommended to remove it.

  1. In Exodus Web3 Wallet, a) click the Profile icon, then b) click Assets.

  2. Click Custom, and find the unverified token you trust.

  3. Click on the token. To remove the Unverified tag, click Trust token .

  4. Next, click Trust.

  5. And that's it! The Unverified tag will no longer show for this token.


Can I swap custom tokens?

In Exodus Mobile, it is possible to swap most custom tokens on the Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and Polygon networks. For instructions on how to swap custom tokens in Exodus Mobile, visit: How do I swap assets on Mobile?

You can also swap custom tokens in Exodus Swap on Web3 Wallet on all supported networks.

Exodus Desktop does not support swapping custom tokens.


How do I find a token contract address?

You might need to find a custom token using its token contract address.

For a guide on how to find a token contract address, click on the custom token's network:


Ethereum (ETH/ERC20)

  1. To find the contract address of an Ethereum token, first go to the Etherscan token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token profile summary.

  2. In the Profile Summary of the custom token you want to add to your wallet, copy the address in the Contract field.

  3. Once you have the token contract address, you can add it to Exodus using one of the following guides:


Algorand (ALGO/ASA)

Adding a custom Algorand token will create an opt-in transaction which will incur a network fee. It will also increase your Algorand minimum reserve requirement by 0.1 ALGO. To learn more, visit: What is an Algorand opt-in transaction?

  1. To find the token ID of an Algorand (ASA) token, first go to the Algorand token list. From here, you can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it.

  2. Here you can find the token ID in the ID field. Copy the token ID.

  3. Once you have the token ID you can add it to Exodus using one of the following guides:


Arbitrum Nova (ARBN)

  1. To find the contract address of an Arbitrum Nova token, first, go to the Nova Arbiscan token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token profile summary.

  2. In the Profile Summary of the custom token you want to add to your wallet, copy the address in the Contract field.

Arbitrum One (ARB1)

  1. To find the contract address of an Arbitrum One token, first, go to the Arbiscan token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token profile summary.

  2. In the Profile Summary of the custom token you want to add to your wallet, copy the address in the Contract field.

Aurora Chain (AURORA)

  1. To find the contract address of an Aurora token, first, go to the Aurora token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token profile summary.

  2. Here, you can see the token address in the Contract field. Click the Copy Address icon to copy the contract address.

  3. Once you have the token contract address, you can add it to Exodus using one of the following guides:


Avalanche C-Chain (AVAXC)

  1. To find the contract address of an Avalanche token, first go to the Avalanche token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token profile summary.

  2. In the Profile Summary of the custom token you want to add to your wallet, copy the address in the Contract field.

  3. Once you have the token contract address, you can add it to Exodus using one of the following guides:


Base (BASE)

  1. To find the contract address of a Base token, first, go to the Base token list. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token overview.

  2. In the token overview, the token address is located under the token name. Copy the token address.

  3. Once you have the token contract address, you can add it to Exodus using one of the following guides:


BNB Smart Chain (BSC)

  1. To find the contract address of a BNB Smart Chain (BSC) token, first go to the BSC token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token profile summary.

  2. In the Profile Summary of the custom token you want to add to your wallet, copy the address in the Contract field.

  3. Once you have the token contract address, you can add it to Exodus using one of the following guides:


Cardano (ADA)

  1. a) Visit Muesliswap Markets and b) select your token from the list, or c) search for it.

  2. Click the token you wish to add to your Exodus Web3 Wallet. Next, a) toggle on Expert View if it is not already enabled, and b) click View on Cardanoscan to view the token's information.

  3. Once on Cardanoscan, you will need a) the Policy ID and b) the ID next to the asset name.

  4. Once you have the token's policy ID and the asset name ID, you can add the Cardano token to Exodus:

    Mobile and Desktop: You must combine the policy ID and the asset name ID. For example, if the policy ID is "123" and the number for the asset name ID is "456", then you'll need to enter "123456" when adding the custom token. To add the custom token, follow the steps in the guides below:

    Web3 Wallet: You will be prompted with separate fields to enter the token details: one field to enter the policy ID and one to enter the asset name ID. To add the custom token, follow the steps in the guide below:


Cronos (CRO)

Currently, Cronos custom tokens are only supported on Exodus Mobile.

  1. To find the contract address of a Cronos token, first go to the Cronos token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Tap on the token to open the token profile summary.

  2. In the Profile Summary of the custom token you want to add to your wallet, copy the address in the Contract field.

Fantom (FTM)

  1. To find the contract address of a Fantom token, first go to the Fantom token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token profile summary.

  1. To find the contract address of a Flare token, first go to the Flare token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token profile summary.

  1. To find the contract address of an Optimism token, first, go to the Optimism token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token profile summary.

  1. To find the contract address of a Polygon token, first, go to the Polygon token list. Search for the asset you want to add. You can a) find the token from the list or b) search for it. Click on the token to open the token profile summary.
