Here's how to link your FTX account to the FTX Exchange app with an API key.

Please note: There are two FTX mobile apps, FTX Pro and FTX (formerly Blockfolio). They are separate platforms, and only API keys in accounts from FTX Pro can be linked to Exodus.

Desktop

On the FTX website ( US | International), a) click Login, b) enter your email address and password, then c) click Log in. When prompted, enter your 2FA verification code.

Click on the gear icon in the top right corner.

In the settings menu, locate and click on the API tab.

Click on Create API Key.

Here you will see the API Key and API Secret. Make sure you write these down and keep them in a safe place. You will need to enter both the API key and the API secret in order to link your FTX account with the FTX Exchange app in Exodus.

Please note: The API Secret will never be shown again after closing this dialogue box, so please make sure you write it down and keep it somewhere safe.

Once you have written down the API Key and API Secret, click Close. Then click on the pencil icon under Permissions.

Enable Withdrawals and Internal Transfers to use the API key with Exodus.

Open your Exodus wallet and click on the FTX Exchange app.

a) Click on Log In, b) then click Use an API Key

a) Enter the API Key and API Secret from step 5 and b) click Link API.

Done! Your FTX account is now linked to the FTX Exchange app in your Exodus wallet!

Please note: Your account needs to be verified with Level 1 identity verification or above to use the FTX Exchange app in Exodus.

Mobile

Please note: The process will look similar to the desktop steps above.

On the FTX website ( US | International), tap Sign In, enter your email address and password, then tap Log In. When prompted, enter your 2FA verification code.

Tap on the profile icon in the top right corner, then tap Settings.

In the settings menu, scroll down and locate the API Keys section.

Tap on Create API Key.

Here you will see the API Key and API Secret. Make sure you write these down and keep them in a safe place. You will need to enter both the API key and the API secret in order to link your FTX account with the FTX Exchange app in Exodus.

Open Exodus Mobile go to the dashboard, then tap FTX.

Tap on Log In, then tap Use an API Key.

Why am I getting an error that internal transfers are disabled in my FTX account?

By default, FTX API keys are restricted from performing internal transfers. To remove this restriction, you will need to toggle on Internal transfers enabled in the API settings in your FTX account.

Why do I get the error "You can explore the app, but can’t deposit or trade in read-only mode"?

If you try to send, receive, or exchange from the FTX Exchange app, and receive the error " You can explore the app, but can’t deposit or trade in read-only mode", it means that you have linked your FTX account with a read-only API key.

To enable sending, receiving, exchanging, and identity verification in the FTX Exchange app in Exodus, you will need to use an API key with Trading permissions.

Follow the instructions below to create an API key with Trading permissions that you can link to the FTX Exchange app in Exodus.


How do I fix the error "You can explore the app, but can’t deposit or trade in read-only mode"?

On the FTX website ( US | International), a) click on your profile then b) click Settings.

a) If your current API key is Read-only you will need to b) click Create API Key.

Copy and save the API Key and the API Secret. After closing this dialog box the API Secret will not be shown again.

The new API key will have Trading permissions. Linking your FTX account via this API key will allow you to complete identity verification, send, receive, and exchange in the FTX Exchange app.
