How do I create an Interactive Brokers account?

Follow the steps below to create your Interactive Brokers account:

Interactive Brokers is a third-party platform. As such, Exodus cannot guarantee the performance of its products/services or that the steps shown and the information provided will always be accurate.

  1. Go to the Interactive Brokers website. In the top right corner, click Open Account and select Start Application.

  2. Create your username and password, select your country, and click Create Account.

  3. Select your account type. In most cases, Individual will be most applicable. Click Start Application when you're ready.

  4. Fill out your personal information and click Continue at the end.

  5. Fill out your tax residency information, and sign the agreement at the bottom by entering your name, then click Continue.

  6. And that's it! Upon verification, your account will be set up.


How do I fund an Interactive Brokers account?

After creating an account, you can fund your account at the end of your application. Here's how:

  1. To fund your account at the end of your application, click Fund Your Account.

  2. Select how you want to fund your account. In this guide, we'll fund with a bank transfer. Next to Bank Transfer, click Get Instructions.

  3. Enter your bank details and the amount you want to send. When you are ready, click Get Transfer Instructions.

  4. Finally, you will see the banking details you need to create the bank transfer to fund your account. Provide these details to your bank to perform the transaction.
