Please be very careful with your secret recovery phrase, because it controls access to your funds. Never share it with anyone, and only import it into platforms that you trust 100%. If you choose to import your 12-word phrase into a third-party platform, you do so at your own risk. To find out more, check out this article from our Knowledge Base: How do I keep my money safe?

  1. Connect your Trezor Model T. In Exodus Desktop, a) click the Settings icon, b) click Devices, then beside Install Trezor Bridge, c) click Install Now.

If you already have Trezor Bridge installed, you can skip this step.

  2. Leave the Detect Trezor toggle enabled. If you are connecting your Trezor for the first time, you will be prompted to update the firmware. Do not disconnect your Trezor while the firmware is updating. Trezor will auto-restart when the firmware update is complete.

  3. Next, Exodus will prompt you to initialize the device. Click Restore From Recovery Phrase.

  4. a) Enter a name for your Trezor, and b) click Confirm.

  5. You will be prompted to follow the instructions on your Trezor.

  6. On your Trezor, you'll be asked if you agree to the Terms of Use. Tap Recover Wallet to agree and continue.

  7. Trezor is capable of recovering 12, 18, and 24-word recovery phrases. To continue, tap Select, then select the number of words in your secret recovery phrase.

  8. Enter the individual words of your secret recovery phrase directly on your device, following the instructions displayed on the Trezor touchscreen. Ensure each word is spelled correctly and entered in the correct order.

With a Trezor Model T, you enter all the words from the secret recovery phrase into the Trezor. This way, Trezor's secret recovery phrase stays in an isolated and safe environment.

Example of entering the word "crime":

    • Press the "abc" button 3 times to enter the letter "c"

    • Press the "pqr" button 3 times to enter the letter "r"

    • Press the "ghi" button 3 times to enter the letter "i"

    • Press the "mni" button once to enter the letter "m"

    • Press the "def" button twice to enter the letter "e"

  9. After restoring your Trezor secret recovery phrase, Exodus will prompt you to connect your restored Trezor with Exodus. Click Connect to continue.
