What should I do if my Trezor was lost or stolen?

If your Trezor was lost or stolen, the best way to secure your funds is to restore your wallet from the lost or stolen Trezor on a new Trezor. Then, move the funds from the new Trezor to a different wallet.

By quickly moving the funds from the lost or stolen Trezor, you ensure that even if someone gets access to the wallet on your Trezor, they won't be able to steal your funds.

If you have a new Trezor available

If you have a new Trezor available, you can restore your wallet from your lost Trezor on the new Trezor.

Once you have restored the lost Trezor's wallet, send all the funds to a different wallet.

After sending the funds to a different wallet, you can wipe your new Trezor and create a new wallet with a new secret recovery phrase.

Don't continue using the wallet on the lost Trezor because it's possible that someone can crack the password and be able to access its funds.

If you do not have a Trezor available

If you do not have a Trezor available, you can restore your Trezor wallet in a compatible software wallet. If you are recovering a hidden wallet, you will need a wallet that supports passphrases.

Once you have restored the lost Trezor's wallet, send all the funds to a different wallet.

Exodus supports 12-word secret recovery phrases. If your Trezor's secret recovery phrase is 12 words, you can restore your wallet in Exodus.

Please note that some funds might not appear if you restore your Trezor in Exodus. If this happens, please contact Exodus Support for help: [email protected].

Exodus Desktop also supports 24-word secret recovery phrases. For help restoring a 24-word secret recovery phrase, email us at: [email protected].
